Lead Graphics Programmer

Ubisoft RedLynx is one of the largest game studios in Finland founded in 2000. They have created over 100 games for all major platforms, sold over 10M copies and had their mobile games downloaded over 120M times.
Right now, the company is looking for a Lead Graphics Programmer to join their team. You will be leading the rendering work in a full-scale AAA game project. This is a large co-development project with other Ubisoft studios. RedLynx is leading the rendering work in this project and you will lead their graphics programming team! In this role, you get to work closely with other tech leads and directors, creative teams and artists to overcome technical obstacles and make the artistic vision of the game come to life. You own both the high-level rendering roadmap and detailed execution plans, create aspiring objectives and quality standards for the graphics programming team, and mentor your team members to support their continuous learning and development.

Must have skills:
  • Demonstrated leadership skills or strong motivation and potential to grow into a leadership role
  • Mastery of C/C++
  • Strong understanding of 3D rendering algorithms and related mathematics
  • Experience in delivering a high-quality game (preferably on PC/Console) to market
  • Experience in writing shaders in HLSL or GLSL
  • Solid debugging skills including the ability to debug at an assembly-level when necessary
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset – you engage others actively and work closely with other disciplines to solve complex issues
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills - you will work together with other programmers, artists and designers
  • Self-guided and highly proactive working style, with a strong motivation to guide and positively influence your team members
  • Has excellent verbal and written communication English skills  
Good to have skills:
  • Open source code samples
  • Experience from AAA projects
  • Understanding the visual aspects of computer graphics (PBR materials, lighting, and animation)
  • Experience in multiple graphics APIs
  • Studies in Computer Science or other relevant fields
