Senior C++ Developer

Our client is a technology-led hedge fund founded in 2015, passionate about collecting, cleaning, transforming, and storing data to feed trading strategies. Its data driven trading models utilize a variety of open-source technologies and multiple data sources, from vendor APIs to fleet of web crawlers running 24/7, to make trading decisions in the global markets. The firm manages assets on behalf of a diverse range of clients including pension plans, insurance companies, financial institutions, family offices, qualified individual investors, among others.
Role Overview
The role is focused on building great quantitative applications and improving engineering efficiency.   

Tasks:
  • Work on the continuous development of the in-house application 
  • Implement process changes to scale testing efforts
  • Diagnose issues, report defects, and propose regression tests to discover reoccurrences
  • Frequent interaction with quants and senior management 
Must-have:
  • 5+ years of development experience in enterprise-class software solutions
  • 5+ years working with C++
  • 2 years of development experience in finance or trading. The work will require extensive knowledge of the financial markets and trading
  • Strong object-oriented design skills
  • Experience with test-driven development
  • Experience with mathematically intensive applications such as statistics, time series analysis, and optimization    
  • Practical exposure to Python, in both system and application-level development
  • Team player and able to work under pressure and a tight schedule
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice-to-have:
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (math, statistics, physics, computer science, financial engineering, etc.) or finance/economics
  • Hands-on experience with large, financial databases (Reuters, MarketQA, Capital IQ, etc.)
  • Familiarity with concurrent systems optimizing response time
  • Working knowledge of basic statistical and econometric methods
