Senior Full-Stack Developer

Remote or Vienna, Austria
World Data Lab (WDL) is a data enterprise that produces the most consistent and credible estimates for spending and demography. Tasks:
  • Build and optimize APIs
  • Take over responsibility for suggesting and implementing backend architecture
  • Develop and maintain the front-end and back-end components of web applications
  • Write clean, efficient, and scalable code using appropriate programming languages and frameworks
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging to identify and resolve issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance development practices
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members as needed
  • Take an active role in developing and mentoring junior and mid-level team members, fostering their growth and professional development 
Must-have:
  • A minimum of 5 years of working experience and proficiency in back-end technologies such as Java(Spring), Scala and AWS
  • Experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and expertise in writing efficient SQL queries
  • Proven track record in building robust APIs and experience with SaaS products, with an ability to leverage industry best practices and standards to ensure seamless integration with external systems and services
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies like JavaScript, and frameworks (e.g., React, Angular)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Capacity to guide the development of complex projects that involve data scientists, product owners, and designers
  • Fluent communication in English
Nice-to-have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
