Site Reliability Engineer

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) you will be working closely with the Product and Platform engineering teams on Cloud Operations and Ops tooling, developing processes and methods that will enhance the culture of reliability as Linnworks grows.
 
Tasks:
  • Eliminating toil; identifying manual, repetitive, automatable, tactical tasks and building tools that eliminate them
  • Telemetry; design and implement application monitoring and performance metrics and dashboards
  • Responding to Application and Security incidents alongside the Engineering teams to manage incidents to resolution
  • Working with Engineering Teams, to debug code, develop and deploy solutions
  • Assist and mentor teams in developing scalable, permanent solutions
  • Provide continuous feedback to Product and Engineering
Must-have:
  • Passionate about technology, delivering scalable, reliable, and secure software
  • Strong development ability with high-level programming languages such as C#, Java, and Python and scripting languages such as Powershell, Groovy, and Bash
  • Experience in deploying and supporting complex applications into cloud platforms, preferably AWS
  • Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins
  • Familiarity with container and orchestration systems such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience in setting up complete telemetry solutions for proactively detecting problems that affect stability and performance
  • Experience with infrastructure as code
Nice-to-have:
  • Experience with multi-geography, multi-tenant applications (preferably event-driven microservices architecture)
  • Experience with Relational and NoSQL databases
  • C# /.NETecosystem knowledge
  • Understanding of automated Unit Test development
  • Experience designing and performing disaster recovery
  • AWS certification
