Embedded Software Engineer (Matter products)

nami is a new Artificial Intelligence of Things startup based in Singapore that aims to bring peace of mind to home occupants through digital monitoring. Their AI sensing devices are backed by discerning machine learning algorithms, eschewing the risk and invasion of privacy that live feeds and recordings from indoor security cameras and voice assistants could pose.
nami is looking for a talented embedded software engineer to help the team drive a future of home security, safety, and energy optimization:

Tasks:
  • Spearhead our efforts to bring Matter support into the nami product lineup. That will involve a deep dive into the Matter standard and associated SDK 
  • Work on the embedded application for the new product, combining Matter with proprietary app support
  • Design, develop and maintain the company's embedded application with a focus on reliability, security and maintainability
  • Collaborate closely with mobile and backend developers to deliver a great experience to customers
  • Contribute to the roadmap planning and give feedback to the product owner; Improve and clean up the codebase whenever there is an opportunity
  • Squash software bugs
Must-have:
  • You are seasoned in MCU and embedded software engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++
  • Experience with wireless stacks (wifi/ble/thread)
  • Experience with embedded development using RTOS and Espressif's SDK 
  • You are passionate about high-quality software products
  • Working as part of a team is important to you
  • You are an effective communicator in English (written and verbal)
  • You are able to adapt quickly to changing requirements and work with a bit of ambiguity. 
Nice-to-have:
  • Have an eye towards the future of IoT, home security and home automation
  • Familiarity with design patterns 
  • Hands-on experience with software operations: deployment, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring 
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing 
  • Understanding of networking protocols: low-level (TCP, UDP, IP) and application-level (CoAP, HTTP, DNS); Familiarity with public key cryptography and infrastructure; Interested in low-level details of WiFi protocol
