As a Technical Director, you will work with a passionate game team to ensure technical excellence and polished execution of game features.  You will collaborate closely with other Directors on the game team to help teams realize cool features.

Tasks:
  • Establish robust engineering standards and practical processes across the game team
  • Oversee the architecture and development of stable, scalable and efficient code customised to the relevant hardware and context on both front end and back end
  • Mentor and lead other team members on feature implementation by reviewing code, making technical validations and ensuring requirements are met in a timely appropriate manner
  • Work with the Game Director and Producers to anticipate complex multivariate issues and propose adapted solutions
  • Stay up to date on technological advancements and industry standards and adapt them when appropriate and applicable
  • Work with other disciplines to translate feature requirements into technical designs/specifications and lead the breaking down into tasks with estimations
  • Sync and align with game leadership and remove blockers to keep production moving forward
  • Write code and contribute directly to features when time permits
Must-have:
  • 5 years hands-on experience with Unreal Engine
  • 2 years of technical leadership
  • Passion for games!
  • A highly innovative and collaborative spirit
  • A systemic approach to problem-solving: you find the root cause of problems and stamp them out
  • A deep understanding of the technical aspects of game development, game engines, systems, programming languages, algorithms and hardware
  • Effective communication across departments: you know how to tailor information to your audience
  • A desire and passion to remain technically capable and an expert in game technology
  • Able to assist in prioritisation in a highly collaborative environment and drive projects to completion
Nice-to-have:
  • Shipped a mobile game, preferably using UE4 
  • Math/Physics/Computer Science or related degree
  • A keen interest in keeping up to date with the latest Unreal has to offer
