Level Designer

PortalOne develops mobile-first “hybrid games” that combine games and live shows to give users a more engaging games experience, with stunning visuals and interactivity and elements of Mixed Reality. The product combines casual gaming with a AAA visual style.
You will be responsible for crafting world-class levels that will engage the player competitively. You will own the level creation of multiple games. You must be able to take a level concept from its inception all the way through to release. You will also work with the game design team to conceptualize new gameplay elements and shape level difficulty and progression. You must have a drive for excellence and possess the initiative required to define and manage your daily tasks independently.

Tasks:
  • Creating levels that showcase game mechanics
  • Collaborating with the design team on content planning, metagame progression, and gameplay features
  • Actively gathering feedback to improve the game
  • Creating and maintaining game design documentation
Must have skills:
  • Experience with creating levels for games
  • Creative and analytical skills, including the ability to analyze both conceptual and practical aspects of game design and to understand how one feature fits into the entirety of the player experience
  • Collaborative and interpersonal skills that include being open to giving and receiving constructive feedback
  • Perseverance and strong internal motivation to continuously iterate until the right solution is found
  • Full working proficiency and fluency in English, with the ability to discuss work-related tasks verbally and in written form and to describe game design ideas in a clear and detailed manner
Good to have skills:
  • Experience with Unreal Engine, Blueprints or scripting languages (Lua, Python, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Experience working with Quality Assurance
