Remote Backend Tech Lead

Runa is changing the way people work in Latin America. The first step in that mission was to create an automated payroll product for the 17.5MM SMBs that rely on Excel. Runa HR is looking for a Group Tech Lead to take ownership over technical deliveries for a whole engineering group ensuring they are solid and long-term solutions.
The company's business hours are 9 am to 5 pm in the Mexico City time zone (GMT-5) and they expect the team to have at least 4 hours of overlap in the mornings.
  • Serve as a Software Architect contributing to and leading the efforts of development teams, including internal and external team members, to continuous delivery functional, long-term software solutions.
  • Contribute and lead tech leads and development teams to design, evolve, and implement scalable, low-latency, resilient, maintainable, and efficient new or existent backend applications and APIs for a high-scale growth company.
  • Help to define processes and take tools' decisions to support the applications on production ensuring a great experience to the clients and users.
  • Make code reviews of pull requests and provide feedback to improve our codebase and raise the technical bar of the team.
  • 10 years of experience or equivalent expertise
  • 4+ years of experience as senior software engineer and/or staff engineer and/or software architect
  • 1+ year experience as a tech lead before
  • Vast experience Nodejs (Typescript), AWS, microservices and/or APIs
  • Experience with event driven, message queue, APIs, and AWS are good indicators
  • Experience working with different languages and/or platforms other than Nodejs/Typescript
  • Are familiar with Ruby on Rails
  • Are familiar with C# and .NET Core
  • Fully remote
