Please note that the project described below is a contractor role where work is usually done on an hourly basis. The duration of the project is also fixed. In order to work as a contractor, you typically need to have an individual entrepreneurship, limited liability company or invoice via a co-operative using a service for light entrepreneurship.

When you accept the project, we will sign a time and materials based subcontracting agreement between Toughbyte and your legal entity before you start work. We provide all the necessary help with arranging interviews and negotiations between you and the client, and will also going be the ones to send the invoices for your work.

As the VP of Engineering Contractor, you will lead the engineering efforts and shape the future of billing and payments technology. You will collaborate closely with the VP of Technology and CPO. The tech and product department comprises 70 FTE, with this role focusing on leadership, coaching, and ways of working for the development team of 45 FTE. The role involves setting up a management team with senior members of the development team, focusing on leadership and coaching, while the VP of Technology will manage the technical roadmap. You will address challenges such as expanding the platform into new markets, enhancing agile development practices, and driving innovation. Your leadership will turn technical challenges into opportunities, leading and mentoring the engineering teams, crafting an engineering strategy aligned with business goals, driving cross-functional collaboration, developing and governing performance and quality connected to the product, and spearheading professional development initiatives.
